Harbourfront Centre's Artists' Gardens are back for the 20th year with 23 existing gardens. Since the programme's inception in 1990, landscape architects, designers, craftspeople, performing and visual artists have collaborated to create living installations that challenge traditional ideas about gardening. All the gardens are situated outdoors on the Harbourfront Centre site (235 Queens Quay West). Curated by Patrick Macauley. Admission is free. For more information the public can call 416-973-4000 or check the Harbourfront Centre website.

2010 represents the 41st anniversary of Canada's Original Safari Adventure. The park continues the original vision of the late Col. G.D. Dailley, founder of African Lion Safari, "to provide an environment for self-sustaining populations of declining wildlife species." He realized this vision by creating displays where visitors were "caged" in their vehicles and the animals were allowed to roam freely. On Friday, August 22, 1969 African Lion Safari opened its gates with 40 lions roaming free throughout three large drive-through Game Reserves. Today, over 40 years later, African Lion Safari maintains a collection of 1,000 exotic birds and animals comprised of over 100 different species. African Lion Safari has successfully bred over 20 species that are considered endangered and 30 that are listed as threatened. We are a founding member of the Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA). The park also participates in the International Species Survival Plan for the Asian elephant, white rhino and Cinereous vulture. We hope you will find your visit both entertaining and enriching and encourage you to respect the animals and their environment.
